Hey there!
Welcome to PUSHFORGORILLA, a newsletter for misfits, outcasts and straight up gorillas.
Who the heck are you?
Great question. My name is Southside Rilla and I am a professional gorilla artist.
Because I am a gorilla, I do not talk often. I instead rely on writing, art, music and sign language to express myself fully, and as a professional gorilla artist I must. Occasionally, my works are narrated by my business partner Cornelius who runs a web agency called RUMBLE X. But make no mistake, at PUSHFORGORILLA, I am the Chief Gorilla Officer, the Executive Editor, and the bottom line in this enterprise. All opinions and artist creations belong to me, Southside Rilla.
What can I expect from PUSHFORGORILLA?
As a professional gorilla artist and ,perhaps more importantly, as a gorilla, I do not care about political correctness. I do not care about gay corporate office politics.
Instead, a rilla like me, Southside Rilla, prefers to write from the heart. Rilla calls a spade, a spade, and a crackhead, a crackhead. Sometimes, it is what it is. And in those cases, Southside Rilla implores you, don’t hate the player, hate the game baby.
As a professional gorilla artist, I write for misfits, outcasts, and straight up gorillas. So dont be surprised if I cover cultural flashpoints, movie reviews, anime, sports and generally whatever is on my mind at the moment.
Every week, I answer reader questions in the RILLANATION column. (You can submit a question here.)
A lot of your content is free. What’s the point of becoming a paid subscriber?
This is not a “mainstream” operation. This is not a “corporate” operation (yet). Southside Rilla writes for the streets. Paid subscribers help make this possible, by helping me release bigger and more ambitious projects over time. In return, paid subscribers gain access to my inner sanctum and behind the scenes development of projects—and direct access to me as far as idea suggestions or questions. email me or fill out this form.
Feel free to send your suggestions and comments to ceceis a work in progress, much like my own life, and I welcome your thoughts and feedback on what you would like to see!
I truly appreciate your messages and thoughts, as they are a sign that my content has struck a chord in some way. After all, as a professional gorilla artist my goal is to put things out into the world that resonate and help others feel less alone, which I think is the best thing that one person can do for another.
xoxo,
SOUTHSIDE RILLA
